Themba Mngomezulu, of clothing label Darkie fame, has been busy in Cape Town, where he is focusing on his business. Darkie clothing is available at YDE shops nationwide, therefore he has decided to create another exclusive brand, that will only be available in his new shop in Cape Town. And guess what this one is called? Well, maybe it's not that easy to guess, so I'll help you out. The new label is called Regime.

Because of contractual agreements with the YDE chain to supply Darkie clothing for men, he couldn't sell the same clothes in his shop. Therefore he decided to start a new label, designing exclusive pieces that will only be available at his shop, located at 159 Long Street in Cape Town. Regime clothing is available for both men and women and the collections include groundbreaking designs, mixed with refreshing colours and assorted original favbrics, each collection not repeated. So, if you are one of those people that wants to be exclusive when it comes to your clothes, head to the shop, you won't be disappointed.

I attended the Cape Town International Jazz Festival and paid the shop a visit. A good model friend of mine, Thokozani a.k.a. TK, invited me over to have a look and catch up with him (hadn't seen him since he left for the UK a few years ago). He looks after the shop, with Themba, and they are doing a fantastic job. The display itself is done with immaculate precision and style to appreciate being in such a creative space. I ended up buying myself two pieces of Regime clothing, a short-sleeve t-shirt, and a jumper with a hoodie. And TK gave me ,as a gift, what he said was an exclusive Darkie t-shirt that was made by Darkie only for TK. The only other people to have the same t-shirt are Darkie himself, Aziz a.k.a Hope Cebekhulu (another friend who used to own the clothing labels 031 and Boma, who is now merchandise buyer for Woolworths). It seems Durban has a strong presence in Cape Town's fashion fraternity.

I couldn't pass up a chance to snap some photos of the clothing from both Regime and Darkie for Women (which was available at Vertigo shops for a short while, then stopped).
