John Legend heads back to SA for 60′s Party

John Legend heads back to SA for 60′s Party
I have seen John Legend perform live three times now. The first time, it was his first visit in the country in 2005, not long after the release of his debut album Get Lifted. I remember it so well because I even attended the press conference at the Hilton Hotel in Sandton. Another reason it gnaws on my mind still is because his opening act at the Standard Bank Arena was the late Lebo Mathosa. And that would be the last time I saw Lebo perform live...

Bebe Winans comes back to South Africa
The number of artists who have braced the stage in South Africa over the last decade or so is growing every year. One of those artists is Bebe Winans. My first time seeing the gospel and R&B singer/songwriter was back during my university days when he performed at the Durban Waterfront, supported by Ernie Smith and Jimmy Dludlu. Winans has come back a few more instances in recent times, some of those times with sister and collaborator Cece Winans....

Newtown to come alight during Diwali Festival
This year’s Diwali Festival is just around the corner. My memories of the world-known Hindu Festival go back to my high school days. Even where I lived at the time, there were many Indian people that observed and celebrated this day. What I enjoyed the most has to be the different types of food prepared for Diwali. Rehearsal pictures by Suzy Bernstein Here is a release I received, about this years Diwali Festival: The FNB Gauteng Diwali Festival...

Mzansi Love Soul rehearsals: Exclusive Pics

Mzansi Love Soul rehearsals: Exclusive Pics
Last night I tagged along to the Lyric Theatre at Gold Reef City to have a glimpse of what to expect at the musical extravaganza aptly dubbed Mzansi Love Soul taking place later this evening. Just as I entered backstage, there Brian Temba was, waiting for his turn as he watched Afrotraction do his his thing during the rehearsals. It was great to see him, in his new dread-lock-less look. As many of you know, he’s been in the U.S. since the beginning...

He painted a dappled picture of our culture with his unique and exclusive Heritage customised sneaker collection. Va$htie The festival that blends the urban culture disciples such as hip hop,...

I couldn’t attend the event that got everybody on social networking site Twitter buzzing. Someone was sent to represent YEAHBO, but unfortunately couldn’t write about it. I was therefore very excited when an invite...
