StevelMarc.COM launch a groundbreaking success!

By on August 16, 2010

Like he promised, Stevel Marc launched his website www.stevelmarc.com in style and class at Ster Kinekor in Rosebank last Thursday night. The launch of the innovative and sleek presentation of the Stevel Marc brand coincided with the pre-screening of the latest edition of the Step Up film franchise, Step Up 3D. Now, let me give you a lowdown of what happened on this special occasion for the man and his specially handpicked guests.

When I got to the venue, the guests had arrived in numbers. I spotted the likes of Terry Pheto, Jen Su, Gugu Zulu, Carmel Ficher, and Joelle Kayembe, amongst others. They were mingling and enjoying what the bar had to offer, as well as finger foods, in the cordoned-off part of the complex foyer. The atmosphere that lingered in the air set the tone for the evening ahead.

Before long, Stevel‘s close friend and compeer for the event Tumisho Masha (who was there with his new wife) announced that everybody gather around in an open space where two groups of dancers would entertain us. Their routines acted as a prelude to what we were going to see in the film, especially the group of b-boy dancers that showcased the most electrifying break dancing, crunk, and many other hip hop-inspired moves. There were were followed by a group of pansula dancers called Show Stoppers who also gave us an energetic performance.

With the excitement seeping on everybody’s heads, we were escorted to the theatre. Once inside, Tumisho gave the man of the moment a sounding and warm welcome. Stevel gave us a touching, funny, and jovial speech before doing giveaways in a manner I thought only stand up comedians could deliver. He’s a true entertainer! And then the official of the business of the night followed.

A commercial featuring the Jamaican-born model, actor and entrepreneur where he described what StevelMarc.com was about was screened. And guess what? It was shot and screened in 3D! How dope is that? How absolutely groundbreaking is that? You could hear the WOW‘s and DAMN‘s flying through the room. I actually overheard a guy outside when I stepped outside in the middle of the movie gushing on the phone, presumably to one of his friends, about the commercial being in 3D. And deservedly, a thundering applause ensued shortly after the commercial ended. And then Step Up 3D started.

I had seen the film a few weeks earlier so I was more interested with how the rest of the guest reacted to it, especially the scenes and parts I loved. Needless to say, it seemed and looked like they were immensely enjoying themselves, clapping sporadically throughout the film. The night was not over.

As guests stepped outside after the movie, they unassumingly found themselves in a completely different foyer than the one they had left before the movie. HP had installed about a dozen workstations with laptops where the guests could experience StevelMarc.com first hand. Of course I knew about this plan weeks prior, and had also seen them set up when I stepped outside during the screening of the film. The guests played around with the website, whilst also enjoying the delicious dessert eats that were prepared for them.

Stevel has paved the way for artists and celebrities with his classy, pioneering and fresh website, StevelMarc.com. Please visit the website to see what I’m talking about. The digital space for the entertainment industry players will never be the same after this. Well done boy! You’ve made me proud! Keep it up.
