Class Act, the reality television series that has been running for a few months will culminate into a tight duel this Saturday, 05 June 2010. The last two standing men, Sdumo and Muzi, will fight for the coveted prize as Mzansi’s new film leading man.

I attended as part of the studio audience this past Saturday. It was sad to see Capetonian Danny leave the competition, but I believe for the first time, the audience voted the rightly deserving contestants to stay in the competition this time around. That is of course the rugged and exceptionally talented Sdumo, who hails from my hometown Durban; and the more calm and charming Muzi from the Limpopo province. I had brief chats with the two guys after the show where they shared a few words.

When I asked them how they felt just moments before Danny was announced as the man leaving the show, Muzi responded, “I was scared because I honestly didn’t know whose name was going to be called”. Sdumo also shared the same sentiments, admitting, “I was waiting for Kenneth to say ‘Sdumo!’. I was preparing myself for that moment. But when he said Danny’s name, I was relived but also sad.”

Muzi and Sdumo told me they will both bring their A-game this week on the finale when I asked them what the audience and viewers at home can expect.

Well, it’s going down this Saturday on SABC1 at 18:30 as the two lads face each other for one last time. The winner walks away with an amazing prize that includes a leading role in a film created for him called Ghetto Dangerous, gets representation by MLA agency, another leading role in an Amstel commercial, as well as an eight week acting training course at the New York Film Academy.

Who do you think is going to walk away with the title of Class Act? My money is on Sdumo; not because he’s my homeboy, but because he’s shown immaculate acting chops throughout the competition.
